The smaller zucchini plant flowered the other day
 Sweaty post-workout.
Weelll week 2 is turning into another failure haha. I took my rest day yesterday and ate way too much today (although I will not miss a workout). The only thing is tomorrow I will be gone to Sarnia, so Sunday when I get back I will have to double up again. Sigh. I hope I can eat ok on the road as well. it's going to take 4-5 hours of driving through Michigan to get to Sarnia.
Mmmm some broccoli coleslaw my husband made with pre-cut coleslaw and his own mayo and vinegar dressing. Super tangy and yummy
Cut all the dill out of our mess of inside herbs
 Poor spindly dill plants

Then I made a dill, sour cream, green onion and chicken broth sauce for some chicken!
got my Michael Fassbender fix in (yjough Jane Eyre is incredibly depressing)
Today we kept Damien out of daycare to spend the day with him since we will be out of town tomorrow and some of Sunday

We had breakfast at Bucci's, a very homey restaurant with not so healthy food but yummy! (Here's where my bad eating started today)
Then we went for a walk on Whitefish Island!

We heard they had new trails and boardwalks
And they did, and it was very nice! Let's hope it stays that way..
The ducks and geese came over to us expectantly...sorry guys
 There's a red-winged blackbird
Lots of berries everywhere for the birds
 Fire moss?

If I ever move away, one thing I will miss is the river

This must have been a lot of work!

We came upon a traditional long house
And some other new stuff they're building
Damien said "I want to live in there!" about the long house

 Sweaty...what else is new?
 These dudes were everywhere

Very big and old elm trees that have so far survived disease
The used to inocculate them against dutch elm disease but we heard they cant afford it anymore...i'm sure its just a matter of time now.....
My zucchini flowers are now little zucchinis!!!

And there are weird little spindles coming off my cucumber plant...

 he loves noodles
 and my mother
 and not wearing pants
I had to move a zucchini leaf aside to show the little bush bean plant...poor thing...i'm afraid to try and move it
my massive zucchini plant...no zucchini yet
 The other one...slightly smaller
Cucumber..and a little basil beside it
 Herrrrbs, dill, cilantro, basil
 Carrots
I wish I knew how big they are
Tomatoes are flowering...going to look up how to prune them again...
walla walla onions...and like 3 or 4 leeks made it (on the upper left)
cilaaaaantro. always failed on me in pots...secret is to grow outside i guess!

We picked the rest of the radishes and planted more herbs and spinach. We are going to make an asian pickled radish and a radish relish with our loot. They last 1 week and 3 weeks respectively in the fridge. I can also just freeze some and use it in soups. Will start that tomorrow.

Had a major test today and have a take-home test tomorrow...that I thought i was getting last week...really need to start paying attention better. Oh summer.

Today was also the anniversary of my father's passing exactly ten years ago. Feels like yesterday he was taking me to the movies and we were eating dinner together. Just he and I lived in this house from when I was about 8 to 17. Miss you dad.

Today is also my cousin's last day in town for I don't know how long. She is moving to Vancouver. I will miss her terribly again. It's extremely engulfing when a family member is also a best friend, sometimes in a bad way but mostly good. She is the sister I never had.I will miss her too.

I did all of my workouts for Week1 of Body Revolution but my eating was usually about 400 calories over about every day except 2. I will do better next week! It is also my weigh in after next week. We'll see if I lose anything with my naughty ways. I mostly go by inches and how my clothes feel though, not weight.

Day 3 was not very productive. I ended up having a bottle of wine with my cousin/best friend who will be leaving indefinitely in about a week to live halfway across the country so I decided to have some fun with her despite my diet plan. So I drank and ate myself up to 1900 calories again. I also didn't exercise on day 4 because well, I was hung over
But today I am back to the plan. I packed my breakfast and lunch and am at work until this afternoon. I packed simply: my blended veggie soup I made earlier this week for breakfast, some rice and some leftover pork taco sauce from the slow cooker poured over it (sounds gross but its a spicy tangy sauce and sooo goood. I ended up skipping snacks so I could have some mashed potatoes, gravy and roast beef at a family dinner at my husband's aunt's house. I stayed within my 1500 calories, but admittedly, mashed potatoes and gravy are not the best way to get those calories.
Since I missed yesterday's workout I am going to attempt doing two tonight. Hopefully it tires me out early and I go to bed by 10 pm again because I need to be up at 6 am for work!
A simple meal from a couple days ago, sauteed onions and fresh tomato in some brown rice with soy sauce.
There's the sauce I used on my rice today
I also cooked down some kale with a wee bit of olive oil and some cloves of garlic, not too much because my stomach is sensitive to garlic, and stored it in portions in the freezer.

mmmmm
feeling good after a workout and shower
ugh! haha
This was the end of the night, which i barely remember. Terri and I are dog starved, we love them and neither of us have one
Definitely my kid...we both love eating tostitos plain
Easy there chum
My veggie soup, it's very satisfying
Evan's aunt lives on a bay and my son loves playing on her "beach"
Technically I guess it is a beach
It was bright

We stayed down there for about a half hour and then it was time to eat!

I will shower tonight so I have enough time to make an omelette in the morning, and I think I'll pack another home made veggie soup, another serving of kale, and an apple with some almond butter for protein. We have sausages to grill for dinner for the boys and I will have some grilled chicken and mixed greens. Time to chug some water before my son goes to bed and I have to work out!

Day 1 went well, I ate well. I had 2 poached eggs for breakfast with a tablesppon of ketchup, an ounce of parmesan brick cheese (sooo much calcium) and some raspberries for a snack, some leftover quinoa salad and 3 oz. of lean pork for lunch, and then a chickpea salad with 1 cup of chick peas and 1.5 tablesoons of olive oil for supper, then a strawberry banana, pear nectar, chia seed powder and flax seed smoothie before bed. In total it was about 1530 calories.

YESTERDAY not so good, I went about 400 calories over (1900) because I ate pork sausages and a baked potato from the grill for supper, and ate at a restaurant for lunch, AND snacked on some green salsa and tostitos chips before bed. I also didn't work out because I was extremely sore. So yesterday was my rest day. I am about to work out right now, and I'm still sore, but I will push through and use my lighter weights. I think one of my problems was using my 8 pound weights for Workout 1 instead of my 5 pound ones.

my dinner, I had to eat in 2 sittings. 1 cup of chickpeas is a lot!
This was so yummy and just enough to keep me from going to bed hungry
We went to my cousins house to visit and had a swim in her pool, except Damien just sort of sat on the steps and we played with him there, he's a little afraid of water even though he likes to be near it
For supper today, I am slow cooking a lean pork cut, which you can't see because its covered in 2 cans of enchilada sauce, some green salsa, an onion, some cilantro and pickled jalapenos. Evan said in mexican restaurants in Memphis where he lived for a few years, they called mixing red and green sauces "Christmas" dishes. So I guess that's what we're having

Update:
my husband sent me the pics we took from his phone

And I just did workout 2 of Phase 1 in Jillian's Body Revolution. I took it easier on the weights this time. Feelin good!
